MLS agents offer home sellers a security buffer. Whenever you put property up for sale it’s normal to have questions about security. MLS agents also pre-screen prospects ensuring that they have employment and annual income necessary to buy a home and they are committed potential buyers rather than “sight-seers.”

For the buyer, the MLS real estate professional knows much more about the property and the seller than publicly available information in a FSBO advertisement. They have access to non-public information relating to potential property problems, safety/security concerns such as the presence of a hostile dog or other hazards.
