In the Lap of 'Luxury': GMAC Real Estate Ranked One of Nation's Best for Luxury Home Buyers, Sellers

New Survey by Luxury Institute Names the Company Among Top Two Nationwide

Oak Brook, Ill., June 6, 2006 - GMAC Real Estate announced today that it has been ranked in a new survey as one of the top two real estate firms in the nation that market luxury properties.

Conducted by the independent New York-based Luxury Institute, the "Luxury Customer Experience Index" survey ranked GMAC Real Estate - which markets luxury properties through its Elegant Homes program - second in the nation, behind only Sotheby's International Realty.

The Luxury Institute ranked real estate companies based on surveys of high net-worth luxury homebuyers throughout the nation. The Luxury Customer Experience Index surveyed high net-worth clients in four major areas: effectiveness of meeting customer needs; perceived price worthiness; customer retention/loyalty, and customer referral. GMAC Real Estate earned a score of 68.4; Sotheby's score was 73. RE/MAX trailed GMAC Real Estate in third place. Other real estate firms included in the survey were Century 21, Coldwell Banker, ERA and Prudential.

The Luxury Customer Experience Index surveyed a nationally representative sample of more than 2,100 households with a minimum of $200,000 gross annual income and minimum net worth of $750,000 (including home equity). The Luxury Customer Experience Index creates a set of measures that capture the critical drivers of customer experience, as rated by each brand's customers, and goes far beyond traditional customer satisfaction measures.
