(March 10, 2005) - GMAC Real Estate announced today that Barbara Chambers, an accomplished senior marketing executive with more than 20 years of experience, has been named vice president of marketing for its Company-Owned Real Estate (CORE) offices. Chambers will be responsible for developing a consistent national marketing program across GMAC Real Estate's national network of CORE offices. "Barbara's extensive, results-driven marketing experience will play an invaluable role as we continue to transform GMAC Company-Owned Real Estate into true full-service offices for home services," said Terry Morris, president of GMAC Real Estate's Company-Owned offices. "Not only does Barbara have a proven track record for accomplishing results, she understands what it takes to meets customers' complete home-buying and selling needs, from brokerage and mortgages, to title and closing services, insurance and home warranties. From 1996 through 2003, Chambers served as corporate vice president of marketing for The DeWolfe Companies, Inc., a New England based home ownership services firm which offered home buying, selling, mortgage, insurance, relocation and moving services. While there, Chambers was responsible for repositioning the 50-year-old publicly traded real estate services company; during her tenure, sales increased from $2.8 billion in 1996 to $8.1 billion in 2002. Among other accomplishments while at DeWolfe, Chambers helped build the first real estate Web site in the New England market and later launched a full-motion video system of homes on the Internet and taped more than 10,000 homes in the first 18 months.
